Teacher: Jeanette Hartvigsen

Color Theory Class

Color theory encompasses a multitude of definitions, concepts and design applications - enough to fill several encyclopedias. However, there are three basic categories of color theory that are logical and useful: The color wheel, color harmony, and the context of how colors are used.
Jeanette will teach how to use color, hue, tone, scale, intensity, proportion, volume and variety to make appropriate fabric choices to ensure a successful quilt.
Learn to use your stash in new combinations stretching your fabrics even further.  Gain confidence in choosing fabrics from outside of your comfort zone to diversify your stash and quilts. This class is available to everyone who registers for QuiltBLISS.  2 months in advance you will be sent a class supply list.

Hand Dyed Fabrics Class

This class will be a comprehensive hands on class about hand dying your own fabrics. Jeanette will take you step by step through the process of hand dying. Jeanette has been dying her own fabric for 15 years and has experience mixing and creating colors that can't be found in a fabric store. You will have so much fun experimenting and dying your own muslin ...coming up with completely original colors! The fat quarters are like potato chips, you can't dye just one! This class is available to 8 students.

Class Kit is: $45.00 for 12 - Fat Quarters (3 yards of fabric) The fat quarters will be a quilters grade muslin that has been precut and pretreated in preparation for hand dying. This class is very limited and will only be available to 8 students because of the hands on nature.  We will have 2 classes / 4 students per class. Class is 1 1/2 hours.

During registration you will have the opportunity to sign up for our hand dyed class. Purchasing a "Class Kit" at registration will automatically enroll you the Hand Dyed Fabrics class.
